Age 25, Parry is a motor-cycle mechanic of Salford, Lancs. He has had experience of speedway riding and in 1949 rode a Velocette at Scarborough, Weston-Super-Mare and Silverstone.
During the war he competed in motorcycle trials whilst serving in the forces in the Singapore area and in 1948 rode in the Manx Grand Prix, but retired with engine trouble at Ramsey.
The following year he turned “international” and rode a Norton in the Junior T.T. In this event he finished 70th at 70.35 m.p.h. just within time to qualify for a second-class replica.
In 1950 he rode in both Junior and Senior T.T. races. ln the Junior he retired on the fourth lap, but in the Senior he brought his Norton into 21st place at a speed of 81.42 m.p.h. At the July meeting at Scarborough he won the 350 race.
His machines are “new type” Nortons and he is entered by Reg Dearden, of Chorlton-cum-Hardy.
Non-starter in Lightweight.
