Graham Smith

Record type: Motorsport Biographies

Biography: Age 24, Graham Smith comes from Roslyn via Goulbourn, New South Wales, and made his first appearance in the T.T. last year. He had his first road race in 1956 at Mt. Druitt on a Gold Star B.S.A., which he raced for 12 months. He then bought a 500 c.c. Norton from Tom Phillis, before Tom's first trip abroad.

Graham has had several good placings on this machine, including a first in the Nepean Grand Prix, held at Mt. Druitt in 1958. Last year, riding Nortons, he was 55th in the Junior T.T. at 78.79 m.p.h., but had to retire on the fourth lap of the Senior. He is entered for both races by Reg. Dearden. (TT Special, 16 June 1961, p. 16.)
