Biography: Mount: Junior – A.J.S.
Aged 30, an engineering draughtsman, of Barrow-in-Furness, Walker, to use his own words, has “had a bash at scrambles without much success”. His first experience of the Island was in the 1948 Junior “Manx” when he rode a pre-war Norton into 52nd place at 65.78 m.p.h. Early in 1949 he finished thirteenth in the North West “200” on his present 7R A.J.S. In last year’s T.T. he was notable as being the one unlucky rider who was not allowed to start owing to the number of entries, all the other reserves managing to find places.
His machine for this year’s Junior is the 1948 7R Model which C. A. Stevens rode into seventh place in the Junior “Manx” of that year at 76.21 m.p.h.
Hobbies: According to his reply to the 1949 “T.T. Special” Questionnaire – “Nice girls who like motor cycles”. Hobbies this year: “Finding a nice wife”. [He must be settling down! – Ed.].

His first experience of the Island was in the 1948 Junior “Manx” when he rode a pre-war Norton into ? place at 65.78 mph. Early in 1949 he finished thirteenth in the North West “200” on his present 7R AJS. In the 1949 TT he was notable as being the one unlucky rider who was not allowed to start owing to the number of entries, all the other reserves managing to find places. He rode an AJS in the 1950 Junior TT but was forced to retire on his sixth lap after skidding on wet tar when well within replica time.
