Biography: Criminal case. Crown case. A private in the 30th regiment. High Bailiff Kelly's order charged with stealing a watch from the house of Mrs Fawcett. 25 June tried and indited for Grand Larceny. 12 August tried and found guilty, sentence, fined 5/- and to be imprisoned for 18 calendar months and to be kept to hard labour. The term expired and a route having come for his proceeding to the depo in the Isle of Wight. Age: 45. Date of discharge: 12 February 1848. (MS 09783/1/2, p.25)
