Biography: Criminal case. 2 x Crown case, Deemster Heywood's order for petty larceny. 14 December tried and found guilty of petty larceny and stealing. For first offence, fined 1/- and imprisoned for 1 calendar month to be kept to hard labour. For second offence fined 1/- and 6 calendar months from the expiration of the former sentence and kept to hard labour. 1 x order for setting fire to his chimney. Discharged by the Lieutenant Governor's permission on the prisoner and his family leaving the island. William Kermode of Castletown engaged to take them to Whitehaven and called at Douglas to receive them where they were put on board his boat by Thomas Watterson assissted by some of the Douglas police.
