Biography: Working in London, Miles painted the ocassional landscape but it was his stormy seas that earned him exhibition spaces with the Royal Academy, the Society of British Artists, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Hiberian Society and the Arthur Tooth And Sons Gallery in London. It is recorded that he was popular with sailors for his depiction of human elements such as the bravery of the shipmen during storms.
