Biography: Lance Corporal Princess Patricia's C. 1s. Infantry, who laid down his life near Parvillers on 12th August 1918 aged 40 years. Extract from the IOM Examiner, 07.09.1918 p. 3, reads: "Lance Corporal Harold Robertson Kissack, third son of the late Canon Kissack, formerly Rector of Ballaugh, brother of Mrs Teare, Balla-neddin, Ballaugh, and nephew of Miss Kissack, Cronk ma Chree, Port St Mary. Born at Rushen vicarage and joined up about two years ago at Pitcher's Creek, Alberta, Canada where he owned a ranch. He was a member of the North-Western Mounted Police and acted as a Justice of the Peace. He was unmarried and left the Island thirteen years ago, prior to which he was a clerk at Lloyds Bank. Lance Corporal Kissack was killed instantaneously and was buried behind the lines two days later."
