Hutchinson Camp carved figure (one of a pair)

Description: One of a pair of hand carved seated male figures (similar to bookends). Made by an internee, prisoner in Hutchinson Camp for the donor's father, Thomas (Tommy) Johnston, a guard at Hutchinson Camp from 1941 onwards (originally he spent first six months at Mooragh Camp c.1940).

The seated male is wearing a hat and has a beard, the figure was originally holding something in it's left hand (a pipe) but that is now broken off. The figure has been stained, coloured and has a polished finish, it may have writing pencilled on base. Two holes in base.

Measurements: overall: 16.5 cm x 5 cm x 7.6 cm
