St Patrick's Isle Pagan Lady Burial Amber Bead

Date made: Viking: 800-1265

Description: Annular bead with hole slightly off-centre. Finely polished opaque orange colour. Many fracture planes evident internally, some damage to one side.

Although incorporated into the reconstructed necklace, it was found in the waist area to the left of the skeleton and was associated with the largest amber bead (1984-0016/47) and the ammonite fossil (1984-0016/26). All three were most likely originally suspended from the waist.

Measurements: 20mm; hole 4mm
