Log Cabin Quilt
Date made: late 19th-early 20th century
Description: A log cabin patchwork quilt made from variously patterned and coloured fabrics though predominantly fine cottons (possibly dress fabrics). The quilt is yellow, white, blue, lilac and pink. The cotton patchwork squares appear to be a mixture of old and new, including some Victorian fabrics. The quilt has pastel pink, blue and green stripes between the log cabin squares.
The quilt is backed and bordered with mauve flannelette and is hand-quilted in a diamond pattern with white cotton thread. The quilt contains filling.
