Description: Carved wooden Italian Fascist Party badge, hand made in Peveril (?) Camp, 1942 (marked on reverse 'IOM 1942'.)

Red, white and green bands, fasces, swastika and rising sun, with word 'L'Asse'' (the Axis'). Painted and varnished.

Belonged to Guglielmo Bertucci, a Scottish-Italian, donor's grandfather (see MNH collection Reference No.: PG/13771). Guglielmo Bertucci is recorded on the 1939 Register as the keeper of an ice cream and confectionary shop at 53 St Michael Street, Dumfries. He was born 10 October 1902. He died in Dumfries in 1985.
