Artist: Coupe, Molly

Description: Showing the rear of a large tenement block, with sheds and lines of washing visible. Molly Coupe was a member of both the Isle of Man Art Society and the Mannin Art Group and she exhibited regularly at their exhibitions from 1963 to 1996. She lived in Queens Terrace, Douglas and her art work predominately featured street scenes around Lower Douglas, such as Big Well Street, Bond Lane and the Old Market Place. Some of these were reproducing the scenes of old Douglas from early T.S. Keig postcards. It is not known what area of Douglas this painting depicts.
