Hexagon Quilt

Description: Cotton patchwork quilt with English-style pieced patchwork.

A hand-sewn cotton hexagon pattern patchwork quilt made up of 2 cm size hexagons. The pattern consists of six coloured hexagons joined against a white background. The pattern is known as 'Grandmother's Garden'.

The hand-sewn hexagonal patchwork is machine-quilted in a rectangular pattern onto a white cotton backing sheet without any filling.

The quilt was made by Eliza and Mary Ann Cowle of Ballakaneen, Kirk Andreas and was used at Ohio Cottage, Andreas.
