Description: Woolwork picture of trophy of flags St George, white ensign, Union Jack, France, USA ,possibly Turkey. Surrounded by draped curtains.
Central vignette of 3-master, 2 rows of gun ports, under sail 2 mounted cannon below.
Made by Thomas Shimmin c.1855 whilst in Royal Navy (died 1927 aged 87), served in Royal Navy under sail discharged aged 17 due to injury (accident to hand) and became police sergeant at Port St Mary.
