Description: This jacket was worn by Megan Whitehead who played tenor horn in Onchan Silver Band in 1982.

The jacket is navy blue with royal blue collar and trim. On the left breast is a circular badge with a lyre and the words 'Onchan Silver' within a laurel spray. The buttons are of a silver coloured Staybrite material, also with a lyre.

Brass band music continues to flourish on the Isle of Man, with the annual Manx Music Festival being one of the highlights. Local bands such as Ramsey Town, Onchan Silver, and Rushen Silver battle for supremacy.
