Ballacamaish Hoard Replica Torc
Date made: Viking: 800-1265
Description: Found by labourers whilst digging for marl. The group consisted of a fragment of a silver neck ring or torc made from four pairs of twisted rods in three pieces, two of which were joined by an 1800s repair (a detached terminal from this ring was also found), a fragment of a second similar silver torc and a penannular silver arm-ring made from three twisted rods, with truncated, knob-shaped terminals (Accession number 1954-4399).
This is a replica, the original finds are in the collections of The British Museum.
