Woollen Striped Quilt
Date made: mid 19th century
Description: A woollen quilt made of alternating blue and red flannel patchwork panels. A double blue strip runs down each long side. The patchwork quilt is bound and backed with a dark blue linsey-woolsey wholecloth made of several pieces of fabric sewn together.
The woollen quilt is hand-quilted with unbleached cotton thread in a zig zag pattern and contains an unbleached woollen blanket as wadding.
This quilt was made by the great grandmother of Mrs Eastwood, Laxey, who donated the quilt to the Manx Museum.
