Description: Children's uniform jacket of Manx Volunteer. Authentic in detail. Made by Cahourne (tailor), Athol Street, Douglas, to the design of Major J. Spittal, Commander of the Manx Volunteers. The original buttons are from the 15th Lancashire Rifle Volunteers. The enbroidered shoulder straps read '15 Lcs'. This unit was raised at Liverpool in 1860 and became the 4th Volunteer Battalion King's Liverpool Regiment in 1888.

Length centre back 19 1/2 inch; chest circa 24 inch; underarm 111/2 inch.

Worn by donor at a children's fancy dress ball held at the Masonic Hall, Loch Promenade, Douglas, around 1887.
