Description: View of road with woman on the left. Douglas market place on the right with four covered stalls and one table. Four women, one man and one figure in the market place. Cases of goods among the stalls, some goods on the ground, an item with two wheels and handles by central stall. Building behind market place to the right with 'HOTEL' written in red lettering, two smoking chimneys. Street lamp to the right of it. Large building with tower attached in the centre of the painting directly behind market place, with street lamp attached to it on the left-hand side and weather vane and clock on tower. Steeple and four sets of chimneys behind it, two of them smoking. Another building behind this to the left, 'YOUNG' and 'CHAM' written on shop front. One smoking chimney on top of it.
