Yamaha motorcycle ridden by Carl Fogarty in the 1992 TT
Date made: 1992
Maker: Yamaha
Description: This motorcycle was ridden by Carl Fogarty, a member of the Loctite Yamaha team, in the 1992 Senior Tourist Trophy (TT) race.
The machine is a 750cc Yamaha OWO1, in the red and white colour scheme of Loctite Yamaha. It carries Fogarty's number 4.
The 1992 Senior TT was voted by fans as the 'greatest ever' TT race. This was because of the epic clash between rivals Fogarty (on this machine) and Steve Hislop aboard a Norton. The lead changed with every lap as the two diced for supremacy. Steve Hislop won the race, but Fogarty set a lap record which stood for seven years. Fogarty went on to World Superbike success, and is arguably Britain's greatest living motorcycle racer.
