Date made: 1978

Description: Kawasaki KR750 motorcycle ridden at the 1978 Tourist Trophy (TT) Races by Mick Grant. This is the machine aboard which Grant won the 1978 Classic TT.

Mick Grant (born 10 July 1944) is an English former professional motorcycle road racer and TT rider. A works-supported rider for Norton, Kawasaki, Honda and Suzuki, he is a seven-time winner of the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race on various makes. It was the aura of the TT which drew Grant to the Isle of Man, “I just had to race in the Island.…There was a magical ring to the place and I felt I had to go”. Grant also rode the Triumph ‘Slippery Sam’ but later moved to Kawasaki with their ‘Green Meanies’. This combination produced three TT victories and a new lap record and within six years Grant, with his trademark green leathers and number 10, had progressed from camping in the paddock to staying in top hotels. He is regarded as one of the greatest riders of the 1970s.
