"This memorial was refurbished by / the Royal British Legion / (Lonan and Laxey Branch) / to commemorate the 50th anniversary / of the ending of World War II / dedicated on Sunday 27th August 1995 / by Reverend C. Upton / in the centenary year of Laxey / Village Commissioners."
