Maughold Cross Slab

Description: This rectangular slab was found in the churchyard in c.1870.

The slab is edged with bead-moulding, bears the outline of a shafted cross rising from a square pedestal. The remains of a connecting circle survive above the arms of the cross. In the centre are the faintest traces of an endless ring of plait-work.
