Description: Inscription reads as follows: "The legion wood was created in 2005 with funds kindly provided / by OCRA Worldwide. The wood commemorated the anniversary / of the ending of the Second World War and is seen as a / testament to those who served the allied cause to secure / freedom for mankind. / The area comprises 60 tree varieties representing the 60 / years since the ending of the war and the 6 years of war. / Providing an area of peace and tranquility for both people and / wildlife, this wood compliments the migratorary bird woodland / project and adjacent trails. / This wood was officially opened on behalf of the Ramsey Branch / of the Royal British Legion on 12th November 2005 by / his excellency the Lt. Governor of the Isle of Man / Vice Admiral Sir Paul Haddacks, K.C.B. / We will remember them."
